Grief... Emotion

Grief... Emotion

Grief is understood as the emotional response to any loss that affects the balance within our selves. Grief can and usually will flow over into our daily lives and will consume us if left unchecked.

Grief is not just limited to loss of someone or something. It can encompass many things that would never be perceived as a loss. One example would be... a change in thought. It is fine to walk through life knowing what you know yet when new information comes to light it can shift the whole being to a different space and cause grief. Thought shifts happen all the time with no perceivable change.  Those shifts are so small as to go unnoticed. The problem comes to light when the shifts come into direct conflict with the whole being. Reaction to the conflicts can be subtle or traumatic. Realization of these conflicts can take many forms.

For example: Realizing that one of your parents is having an affair or is actually in love with someone else.  This bit of information can seriously disrupt ones emotional state. It pushes a thought shift that is unexpected. This shift becomes tangled with the mind and solicits all sorts of thoughts and pressures on the body.

In order to work with these conflicts, one must understand the relationships that exist between the four aspects of the being. Most beings will speak of the body, mind and spirit, completely leaving out the emotion. Most beings think that emotion is part of the mind. This is not the case at all. Emotion stands alone just as the others do and carries it's own weight within each being.

Emotion is tied directly to the amygdala and holds the history of survival for each being. Emotions have kept each and every being on the planet alive many times over. I find it curious that beings here continually deny themselves the full spectrum of emotions and compress some emotions down so deep as to create illness within themselves. So much more can be said here so I am hoping for dialog from others.

Grief... Body, Mind, Emotion and Spirit

These thoughts are broken down in separate realities. There will be several posts on this subject with clarifications if need be.

Working on the premise that everything is connected, it is difficult to prioritize which aspect of the self is more prone to grief. It is perceived that the mind holds sway over the body and in some instances manifests illness within that body. Contrary to this, if the spirit is unbalanced or severely stressed, it can manifest illness within the mind. The body seems to hold its own manifestations and emotion is all over the place, affecting everything. Emotion is the glue that holds everything together or the solvent that dissolves everything into chaos. For good or bad.
